The Institute of Food Science, Innovation, and Technopreneurship (IFSIT) of Cebu Technological Universityโ€“Main Campus successfully conducted a โ€œTraining on Technology Transferโ€ to strengthen the capacity of its Daanbantayan-based incubatees in utilizing university-developed food processing technologies.

The training aimed to equip incubatees with the knowledge and skills needed to apply and manage existing CTU innovations within their enterprise operations. The sessions focused on understanding the production process, quality assurance, and commercialization strategies, helping participants enhance their product development using technologies created by CTU researchers.

The training featured DB United PWD General Merchandise, represented by its President Ms. Arlinda B. Rosell, one of the Daanbantayan incubatees under the CTU ATBI Program. The enterprise, which engages in food product processing, is now integrating CTUโ€™s research-based technology into its production to improve product quality, efficiency, and competitiveness.

The activity was led by the inventors of the technology, Dr. Reciel Ann T. Cullano, Director of the Institute of Food Science, Innovation, and Technopreneurship, and Ms. Jessa D. Marabi, Research Associate of the same institute. Dr. Cullano highlighted that technology transfer focuses on equipping enterprises to use and sustain innovations, enabling them to transform scientific research into tangible community impact.

The training was coordinated by Project Staff Prof. Marlou C. Godinez, assisted by Ms. Hannah Alexandra Nicole Letigio, who facilitated the activity and provided hands-on assistance during product demonstrations.

This activity reflects CTUโ€™s continued dedication to bridging academic research and enterprise development, ensuring that technological innovations reach and benefit local entrepreneurs. Through its ATBI and IFSIT programs, CTU is shaping a dynamic innovation ecosystem where researchers, technologists, and business owners work hand in hand toward a more sustainable and technology-driven future.
