One of the truly remarkable incubatees of the CTU-DOST-PCAARRD ATBI is the humble abaca fiber processors; the sinamay weavers. The incubatee is located in truly a very remote and high altitude barangays in Tuburan, Cebu. Starting the agri-business was very tough at first not just because of their distance from commercial centers, but also because they do not have the luxury of having an established market to buy their products. In 2023, they only had one buyer, and the orders weren’t very many. But in the later part of 2024, with the help of PhilFIDA and CTU-ATBI, the business received additional tools and machinery to improve their products and processes. They also get to connect to more clients to expand their market.
