CTU ATBI Hosts Incubatee Summit and Ceremonial Unveiling of Markers

To celebrate its initiatives and highlight its achievements, the Cebu Technological University Office of the Agri-Aqua Technology Business Incubator (CTU ATBI) hosted the ATBI Incubatee Summit and Ceremonial Unveiling of Markers on October 29, 2024. The event took place at the 2nd Floor RD Learning Commons/ATBI Conference Room, Science and Technology Building, CTU Main Campus.
The summit brought together representatives from various incubatee groups across Cebu City, Tuburan, Madridejos, and Bantayan Island, showcasing their unique and innovative products in a lively exhibition.
The program commenced with an inspiring opening message from Dr. Adrian P. Ybañez, Project Leader of RATBI/IPTBM and University Vice President for Research and Development. In his address, Dr. Ybañez highlighted the significant milestones achieved by the incubatees and reaffirmed CTU ATBI’s commitment to empowering small businesses and fostering socio-economic growth.
CTU President Dr. Joseph C. Pepito followed with a warm welcome to attendees. He lauded the unwavering dedication of the ATBI team and praised the incubatees for their resilience and ingenuity, especially given the challenges of distance and logistics.
A special guest, Engr. Jesus F. Zamora, Jr., Regional Director of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Region 7, graced the event. In his keynote speech, Engr. Zamora emphasized the opportunities available through the incubation program and encouraged the incubatees to explore additional DOST initiatives to bolster their business ventures.
Another prominent attendee, Dr. Angeline Baldapan, Region 7 Program Leader of the Regional Agri-Aqua Innovation System Enhancement (RAISE), came from Bohol Island State University to join the event. In her speech, she commended the ATBI project staff for their exceptional dedication and applauded their achievements in the project’s inaugural year.
The day’s highlight was the unveiling of the ATBI/IPTBM Markers, which now adorn the Science and Technology Building corridor. The markers symbolize the program’s milestones and serve as a reminder of the university’s dedication to advancing innovation and entrepreneurship.
The celebration continued with a shared lunch featuring some of the products presented by the incubatees, showcasing the diversity and quality of their creations.
The event concluded with a dynamic, open forum led by Engr. Zamora. Incubatees actively participated, voicing their concerns and seeking advice from the distinguished panel. Engr.
