San Juan, La Union – The Department of Science and Technology–Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD), through its Technology Transfer and Promotion Division (TTPD) and in collaboration with the Association of PAQE Professionals, Inc. (APP), successfully held the graduation ceremony for Batch 2 of the National Intellectual Property (IP) Valuation Training under the Regional Agri-Aqua Innovation System Enhancement (RAISE) Program on August 15, 2025, at Patio by Balai Norte, San Juan, La Union.
Among the graduates were Dr. Adrian P. Ybañez, Project Leader of the Regional Agri-Aqua Technology Business Incubator (ATBI) in Central Visayas, and Engr. Naomi A. Bajao, Project Staff III of CTU’s Intellectual Property and Technology Business Management (IPTBM) office. Both completed the rigorous two-part training and presented their respective IP valuation reports, demonstrating CTU’s commitment to strengthening intellectual property management and advancing agri-aqua technology commercialization in the region.
A total of 57 participants graduated from the program, which was conducted in two phases—first in July at the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV), Iloilo City, and concluded this August at Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU), La Union. The training was designed to build the capacity of regional innovators and technology managers in valuing intellectual property assets, a vital step in bridging research outputs to market opportunities. Aside from CTU, other state universities and colleges (SUCs) in Central Visayas also successfully completed the training, further strengthening the region’s pool of IP valuation and commercialization champions.
The 10-day training was facilitated by Ms. Mary Jade Roxas-Divinagracia, Managing Partner for Deals and Corporate Finance at PwC Philippines’ Isla Lipana & Co., who provided participants with comprehensive knowledge, practical tools, and methodologies on IP valuation and commercialization strategies.
